this one is from richmond virginia. the reason people call them janks “blob tops” has to do with the shape of the closure of the bottle, where it was sealed. the closure we use today is referred to as a crown top. (patented by william painter out of baltimore in 1892) before that, bottles often had this thick, rounded lip at the top.
