The Blue Circle hamburger chain was founded by Homer Longmire in 1931 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The chain eventually grew to over 30 locations across the Southeast. Changing ownership a few times over the years, in January 2025, the last Blue Circle restaurant, located on Bluff City Highway in Bristol, Tennessee, closed for good.
